Got a wedding gift a year after our wedding?
My husband and I got married last July, in a VERY small ceremony (parents and siblings) at the courthouse. Since it was family, and we already had a furnished home, we asked for no gifts. Last week, I got a package adressed to me at my work from Amazon.com. Seeing as I have never shopped online, I panicked and tore it open, thinking someone might have stolen my credit card or something. But it was a very nice cookbook with a card attached congratulating us on our marriage from 2 people I was sure I didn’t know, and my husband didn’t know anyone by those names either. It took me a few days to track down who it was who sent the gift. It was my parents friends son and his wife (whom I have never met in my entire life). I know I should write a thank you note, but what do I say? I mean, I have no idea why they sent a gift seeing as we absolutely don’t know each other, nor am I even sure how they knew where I worked (they live in another state), or even how they knew or cared I got married. What do I say? Should I include a wedding picture? Help on proper thank you note ettiquette?

That was very nice of them – being virtual strangers and all! Wedding gifts are usually acceptable up to a year later. You should write back within a month. How about:
Dear So and so,
Thank you very much for the lovely cookbook. It’s full of great recipes I’m excited to try. Just the other night I made fantastic lasagna from the book which we both enjoyed.

I don’t think you need to include a wedding photo.
A simple thank you card is enough.

“Tricking” online refurral schemes?
Online refurall schemes… I knwo they work, so don’t bother to tell me that. What I need to know is this:
Will using different IP’s be enouth to avoid decection that I’m actually doing all the reffurals myself?
Some schemes require credit card details… will opening several accounts (Still under my name) be enouth to fool them, or will they check, and see that all the names and DOB’s are the same?
If they do check names and DOB’s, can someone reccomend a good site, that dosen’t need card details?
I know this is a breach of the T&C’s of the sites… but let’s be hournest here, wold you rather I spamed forums with “Please fill in my refurall for a free Tv/Wii/Amazon points (Delete as appropriate)”
And finnaly, if such sites were to find out that I was trinking them… what then? Do they just cut you off, or would fraud charges follow?
Amit C…. you’ve spectacularly failed to answer the question… instead you’ve done exactly what I’m trying not to do… spam places with reffural links.
Read my question next time! Oh, and for the record the site your on sucks… very few adds avaliable, 11 today. Without reffurals, which are actually hard to get, you’ll be making around 5p a day….
If anyone has any real answers to the questions that I asked, then don’t worry, I won’t snap at you like this… it just seems like this guy is a bit of an ass and deserved it!

If you buy games online do they come with a new CD key?
I want to buy star wars battlefront 2 for pc, but since the game is so old (not even lucasarts sells it anymore) I can only find the game on sites like amazon and ebay.
This is the link to the one I’m planning to buy. But I have a question..is the CD key included with the CD-rom? Will it be a brand new CD key thats never been used before? (I want to play online so it won’t work if an account has already been created with it)

None of the descriptions ever say anything about a CD key so I just want to make sure. I once bought a used game that was described as “slightly used” and when I got it everything was in perfect condition but there was no CD key (so I had to search google for a used one)

I would personally advise you to NOT buy a used PC game. Many games anymore come with one-time use CD-Keys that, once registered with a single account, can’t be used again. Buying console games, however, is much safer, as there are no CD-Keys involved.

I would go with PC. Games like that are easier to play with a keyboard and mouse. Idk about amazon’s shipping policies, that you could probably find on their webpage. It’s an older game so I would assume the PC requirements for it are relatively minuscule. Any machine purchased in the last 5-6 years should run it fine.
